Eric HUGHES Band – Paycheck Boogie 2007

Burning hot Memphis Blues from Beale Street’s number one bar band, ranging from electric boogie to acoustic Delta blues.
“Paycheck Boogie” is one of my favorite tunes from an earlier CD of Eric’s and here we find Friday’s paycheck burning a hole in his pocket. “Friday…Friday…I got my money in hand…Monday…Monday…nothing left to spend…work all week…I do it all again…I do the paycheck boogie!” Considering Eric’s wonderful wife, Laura, is the bass player in his band, I think the paycheck boogie worked out all right in this case!
Memphis Tenessee’s Eric Hughes is a featured performer in the clubs on Beale Street and at Blues festivals throughout the South, where folks know good Blues.
A young Hughes first heard the Blues at hunting camp, where James “Son” Thomas was hired to perform for hunters and guests. Too young to hunt or drink with the men, Hughes found himself at the feet of Thomas, fascinated with his music.
Hughes, a former Marine, feels compelled to carry the torch foward to a new generation of Blues fans, and entertains guests and tourists from all over the world at his Beale Street shows.
