Larry MARTIN Band – On The Road 1997

The LARRY MARTIN BAND, is one of the firmest and best known bands in the current scene, and one of the best references in the spanish Jazz-Blues scene. This firmness is endorsed by over 15 years experience as a stable musical formation, and above all, by the conviction they have in their musical offer. They recorded a live concert in 1993 for the prestigious TV2 musical program “AREA RESERVADA”, and participated in a compilation CD during the “XVI INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL” in Guetxo, and in yet another CD during the “Ist JAZZ CYCLE” (1993) hosted by the University of Malaga. In 1997 they edit their CD “ON THE ROAD” (Barsa Promociones) and at the beginning of the year 2000 “…JUST PLAYING THE BLUES” (Enfasis Records) a CD that is representative of their musical evolution with a good number of their own songs. In April 2002, they edit their current CD, “LARRY MARTIN BAND EN EL CENTRAL” (Ingo Musica), recorded live in the renowned Madrid Cafe Central during the 7th and 8th of September 2001; a CD filled with new songs of their own as well as a few standards that are not frequently played, representative of their musical evolution with a good number of their own songs. The bandleader, LARRY MARTIN, is a drummer with an extensive amount of experience that has performed with most of the top notch national and international artists, as well as being one of the founding fathers of GUADALQUIVIR in 1978. He is very active in Didactic Concerts and although he collaborates with other musicians on different projetcs, is focusing the larger part of his time and energy on LARRY MARTIN BAND.
